Calicut city does not have any major on-demand transportation technology aggregator as of yet and there is a very good reason why. The city's pseudonym, 'City of Truth', is the reason. Any new entrant will have to go up against the city's beloved 'auto-chettans', and the chances the newbies have of coming out on top are low. These good ol' auto-chettans have been helping the common man since the dawn of time. There are countless instances of auto-chettans going out of their way to help customers, we have listed five below,

1. The Curious Case Of The Auto-chettan Honoured In Dubai

Mohammed Rafeeq PP, a good ol' auto-chettan, was flown out to Dubai for a public programme organised by the Kozhikkodu District Pravasi Association (KDPA-UAE). A couple of women hailed Mr. Rafeeq's autorickshaw from the city to the railway station and forgot their bag in his auto. The bag had jewellery worth half a million! Mr. Rafeeq only noticed the bag in the backseat after a while but when he did, he drove straight back to the railway station. Mr. Rafeeq was flown out to UAE to reward his honesty and integrity. As per emirates247, when asked about the incident, all Mr. Rafeeq had to say was, 'Most of the autorickshaw drivers in my city are honest.'
