1. Beypore Beach
What: The place used to be an important maritime centre during the days of the early Arab and Chinese travellers. The ship building centre of Beypore is an important commercial area and has existed for more than 1000 years and is known for its manufacturing of ‘Uru’. Uru is a special ship vessel built with several types of wood, predominantly teak.

2. Kolavipalam Beach
What: Popularly known as the ‘Turtle Beach’ because of the famous Olive Ridley turtles that are found in abundance here. The turtles are most commonly seen during the month of September.

3. Payyoli Beach
What: The Payyoli beach witnesses several thousands of tourists every week. The water is ideal for swimming and water sports.

What: This beach happens to have a historical significance as the place where Vasco da Gama landed first on the Indian soil on May 1498.A monument exists to commemorate this event. The beach is ideal for relaxing. Look out for the beautiful sunset!
