Burgermania Washed Down With a Mojito

Greasy meat and veggies served on a  warm bun. Cool drinks with spunk that will have you chilled out in no time.  Wish there were more places in Kochi that served great burgers and yummy mojitos?  Well, now there is.  Café 17 has opened its doors for the special Burger and Mojito Festival starting May 31, 2015.

With a thirst for taste and an appetite to match, I walked into the funky interiors of Café 17. The burger and mojito festival sounded enticing on the hot day. I started with the Classic Virgin Mojito and was delighted when it was brought in a tall glass with ice and fresh mint.  It was deliciously cooling; perfect for the season.  As a vegetarian, I was a bit hesitant about my order for the “Paneer Tikki.” I have had too many mediocre burgers, but as soon as I bit into this one, I knew it was different.  A delicious combination of vegetables, sauces and stuffed with paneer, this was a superb burger.  I turned to my friend who doesn’t understand my vegetarian cravings, and all she could do was grin as she demolished the Barbeque Chicken Burger.

With multiple types of burgers, both non-vegetarian and vegetarian, and an equally impressive list of mojitos, this is a superb opportunity for the burger and mojito lover.  A special deconstructed burger is also available, where all the ingredients and sauces are brought to your table for you to create your own burger.  Want to leave the food prep to the pros?  Try the extremely popular chef’s signature burger, “Jijo’s Barbeque Chicken Burger.”

Café 17 is a cozy place on Kaloor Kadavanthra Road, perfect for spending a relaxing meal with friends.  It is an ideal getaway to escape the rush and noise of the city, providing a cool oasis of excellent food, chill music and lovely ambience.  A funky chalk wall decorated with graphic artwork on one side, minimalistic movie posters on another, plus another wall lined with books, makes it an ideal perfect environment to eat and relax.
