Bharatheeyam, a festival organised by the Greater Cochin Development Authority (GCDA) recreation club, will be held at Marine Drive from December 19 to December 28. The inaugural programme of the festival will be a Pancharimelam performance by Amabalappuzha Vijayakumar. The inaugural day will also witness a Pancharimelam lead by actor Jayaram in the evening, in which nearly 60 artists will perform.
On December 20, prominent artist Mallika Sarabhai and team will present a dance programme titled ‘India Then Now Forever’.
On December 21, Usha Uthup will sing for Kochittes in ‘Singer’s Eve’.An Odissi Dance performance by Guru Manoranjan Pradhan and 11 other artists is the highlight of the festival on December 22.
On December 23, Madhu Natraj Kiran will perform Kathak dance. On the the next day, Ramesh Narayan will present Ghazal, and ‘Jugalbandhi Night’.A DJ programme by Sash will be the highlight of the Christmas day.
