Malvan is a town along the west coast of India, and is home to many picturesque fishing villages. This Konkan Coastal belt is a sanctuary of coconut plantations and seafood.

Tharavadu Restaurant at Casino Hotel takes you on a visit to the town of Malvan where we run you through some dishes that are quintessentially Malvani and do justice to the simple, home like cuisine from this region.

What’s most appealing about the fest will be the live stations where we will dish out, Fish RawaFry, which is a Semolina Crusted Masala Fish Cooked on a Tawa. Neer Dosa, which are a Manglorean Preparation of Thin Savory Crepes,Usal Masala, which is a Maharashtrian Preparation of Sprouted Moong with a Tomato Onion Masala, topped with Sev and more.

Food from the Malvan coast is different from elsewhere in the country, in terms of ingredients and cooking methods. Not everyone can come up with a delicious steamed sweet cake using cucumber and semolina. Dhondhas gets its wonderfully grainy texture because of the semolina and grated cucumber and sweetness with jaggery. You can also make a version of this almost forgotten in time recipe with jackfruit.
