How did you end up working with E?

I have been going for auditions since the first year of my college, but nothing materialized. So I decided to complete my education and establish myself as an architect. But all along, I had the passion to work in films. So, after having worked for a while in Qatar, I took a break, came back to Kerala and started going for auditions again.
That was when I gave the auditions for a film, which did not work out; but the dialogue writer of that film noticed me and referred me to the director of E, which is how I got the opportunity to work in the film.

To which genre does the movie belong to?

If you ask me it's hard to define a specific genre that the film fits in. The movie starts with a usual college life which has elements of comedy and then turns into horror.

What is your character?

I play Karthik, one of the five friends. Karthik is a visual communications student and wants to be a director.  Karthik has a backstory, which is the turning point of the story.

How did you feel like working with Sangeeth Shivan on the movie ‘E’?

Even though I knew that he was Santhosh Sivan’s brother, I did not know that he had directed an all-time classic such as ‘Yodha’.  When I realized this, I was really excited and eager about working with him. After meeting him on set, he was extremely friendly.

How was your experience with Gautami?

When I learned that Gautami is acting in this film, I was reminded of ‘chick pook chick pook rilla’, which is my memory of her. She is the main pillar in the movie E. I met her on the first day of the shoot, but we didn’t interact much in the beginning. Then, when I faced some trouble with one of the scenes which required numerous retakes, she helped me with her guidance, and from then on we became good friends.

Which is your favourite horror flick?

‘Anandabhadram’ is my favorite Malayalam horror movie. I really liked everything about the movie especially the cinematography and direction by Santhosh Sivan sir. I loved the character played by Manoj K Jayan.

Which are your upcoming projects?

I am currently working in a movie that deals with a sister-brother relationship, and I play the role of a man with Bipolar disorder.

Did you do any research for this character?

Yes, I actually spent a day with a person with bipolar disorder and also spoke with a psychiatrist on the subject. I also watched a few movies on the subject to get an idea on how to portray the character.

What made you want to become an actor?

I had an enormous craze for movies from a young age. After watching a lot of movies, I slowly developed a passion to act. I would also try enacting scenes from movies after I see them. I participated in various drama competitions in school and won prizes, which boosted my confidence.

Will you stick with acting now or move on to architecture?

I always wanted to be an architect as well, so I will not be leaving my job just yet. The fate of this movie will help me decide on which career to choose.
