Treat for your eyes and your palette!
Cassava at Kochi Marriott Hotel have been offering nothing but the best of Kerala to their guests. The new menu at Cassava this time round includes their chef Saji Alex’s innovation, the popular Kappa Pappadam Pidi (crushed boiled tapioca with roasted coconuts, shallots and fried pappadam), Neymeen Kalil Porichathu ( seer fish marinated with chili, turmeric, coconut and pan friend), Kunju Kozhi Varuthathu ( spring chicken marinated with ground Kerala spiced shallots), the traditional Karimeen Pollichathu, Meen Porichathu, and more. Cassava will also feature ethnic stews along with the menu.
Introducing the new menu to Cochin, the restaurant hosted a Malabari special cookery class for ladies on 25 July by Chef Saji and an Art Appreciation Dinner was hosted on 26 July with artist Reshma Thomas from Trivandrum. Reshma is a self-taught artist who believes that she does not just interpret and represent life, but magnifies it. Bold and assertive, her collections are a testimony to her careful and colourful capturing of the deepest and simplest impulses in evocative shades and textures.
Her series of ‘Bark Painting’, which is one of the oldest streams of art, speaks of the power of transformation. To understand the toughness of silence and language of bark in trees, the search began with a closer look at the unexpected beauty of the bark.
