One fine Sunday I go to a wedding in the family. I am working my stylish readymade Salwar and the worst imaginable thing happens- I see a girl wearing my exact same outfit! The rage of looking “mass produced” I felt at the moment, fuelled me to swear off readymades forever.  If you are like me and prefer to choose fabrics, embellishments and design your own outfit head on down to these stores around the city that can cater to your designing needs.

Milan Design

De Fab

Owned by one of the renowned designer in Kerala, De Fab is a boutique that also sells fabrics and embellishments by the meter. You can also get custom handworks done if your design requires it.

Threads Clasilks

Threads Clasilks is an earthy boutique that sells ethnic prints and natural fabrics like cotton and jute along with traditional jewellery. Their principle is ‘less is more’ and you will find elegant formal options here.

Level 10 is a favourite for the college going crowd of Kochi. The shop is filled with colourful and on trend prints and is also easier on the pocket.
