It is almost that time of the year again, Onam is around the corner and Kochi sure is excited about King Mahabali’s impending arrival. The pookalam, the sadhya, the games, there are a lot of things to get in place before the big day of celebration, but there is only one thought going through everyone’s head at this stage, ‘what do I wear?’ You need to look your best in all of the Onam pictures! Kochi’ites have regularly turned to movies for inspiration for we know we can do no wrong when dressed like our stars.
Here are five looks Kochi’ites love.
1. Krishnan Nair aka Jayan
Jayan shall forever remain an icon. These men (students of MES College Marampally, Aluva) have ditched the tradition of mundu on Onam day and adopted Jayan’s signature bell-bottom pants and bright coloured shirts.
2. Kottayam Kunjachan, Kottayam Kunjachan
Mammootty’s look from the movie Kottayam Kunjachan remains a classic. Countless men have tried the Achayan look.
