Game on boys! Kicking off the Fifa'16 Championship at Centre Square

Let the games begin! Immortal gamers once again hosted a FIFA16 gaming tournament, last weekend at Centre Square mall. The organizers were delighted with the success of the event and the great turnover of participants and event attendees. The event was in the format of elimination and finally 3 gamers walked home as champions.

The best part of gaming events is that people of all ages and backgrounds came to participate. They had a record number of contestants for Kerala which went over 350 registrations. The youngest contestant for this competition was a 5th grader, and there was even a husband whose doting wife was cheering him on. People came from Chennai and Bangalore to participate and there were a few Germans trying their luck out as well.

True gamers take their trade very seriously. Take the first prize winner Sujay A from Chennai for instance- He already owns 3 PS4s from winning other tournaments. You can almost see the indifference in his face as he goes home with another one (kidding). Immortal Gamers say that the winners of the event are the best FIFA players in India. Nihal MP from Kochi took the second prize of Rs.10,000 and Anish Prakash from Chennai took the thrid prize of Rs.5000.

It’s good to see that the gaming culture has emerged from the shadows of college fests and have stepped into the limelight like this. The organizers are thrilled with the response from their sponsors and are now confident that they will be able to host an event regularly.
