A Quick rise on the career of Basil Thampi as a fast bowling talent paved way for him to reach heights. Yes it’s a proud moment for all Malayalees out there!
As a great step ahead, he will be part of the Indian team for the three match T20 against Srilanka starting from December 20, 2018. He is a right-arm fast bowler and regarded as one of the quickest bowlers in the journey of cricket.
He debuted in the IPL season for Gujarat Lions team in 2017, taking 11 wickets in 12 games with a best of 3 for 29.

"I was shocked to be honest when I came to know about the selection from KCA secretary Jayesh George. In the past one year, I have become a more confident bowler and I'm hopeful of doing well for India against Sri Lanka," said Thampi, who trains at the MRF Pace Foundation in Chennai under the watchful eyes of Australian legend Glenn McGrath.
