Kochi metro runs full stretch from Aluva to Maharaja’s

The much awaited completion of the phase 2 of Kochi Metro has finally happened. The inauguration of the phase 2, which starts from Jawaharlal Nehru stadium to Maharaja’s College.

The event was inaugurated by the Chief Minister of Kerala, Pinarayi Vijayan along with the Union Minister of State for Urban Development, Hardeep Singh Puri at town hall on October 3. After the official inaugural function,  Vijayan,   and Puri, along with other eminent personalities, took the metro ride from Jawaharlal Nehru Station to Maharaja’s college ground.

The new 4 km stretch of metro will have five stations. The traffic from Aluva to MG road will soon see a change in the rush, thanks to the successful completion of phase 2 of Kochi Metro. It will take 25-30 minutes to travel from Aluva to MG Road in the metro, which is much less time consuming and a relaxable journey when compared to the 50-60 minute drive on road.
