Happy Mother's Day to all our superheroines out there

1. Make sure your ‘mommy cool’ wakes up feeling special.

Let her sleep in until sunlight pricks her eye.  Just pull in your dad and siblings and make that Sunday worthwhile. Leave a handwritten card wishing her a ‘happy mother’s day’ next to her pillow.  In addition to that, let her wake up to see a meal you prepared only for her. The meal need not be perfect. Remember, it’s the thought that matters. There are many websites that will give you yummy quick recipes for breakfast like mariasmenu.com, pachakam.com etc.

2. Make her receive a special text from her childhood friend.

Get hold of one of your mom’s best childhood friends and wish them a happy mother’s day. Ask them to leave a special text to your mom so that it makes her day special. Your mom will never expect such a message and thus will be thrilled about the fact that her childhood friend still remembers her.

3. Take her out for an ice-cream. Go ahead, spoil her.

When you hear the word ‘Ice-Cream’, the only thing that comes running to your mind is the freshness of a creamy ice-cream. Cold Stone Creamery, Naturals, Milano, we have so many options in Kochi. Let her get the first taste of that heavenly bliss.

4. It’s ShowTime! Go for a movie starring her favourite hero.

Breaking all stereotypes who knows, your mom might be an ultimate Captain America fan. Take her for the ‘Captain America-Civil War’.  Oh! Make sure you order caramel popcorn and a drink as well. Hoot, whistle and enjoy yourselves throughout the show.

5. Steal her away from her tensions and routines.

Go for a family drive to some place away from the city’s hustle-bustle. Fort Kochi beach, banks of Periyar in Aluva, Wellingdon Island, the Marine Drive walkway and many such places can be considered. Appreciate the beauty of nature and allow her to enjoy herself. Grab some snack to munch on your way.

6. Send your dad and mum out on a date.

You and your siblings can stay back while your dad and mum can go out on a dinner date. Let them try to remember their younger days fondly. Ask your daddy to take her shopping. For those who want pure summer cotton to beat the heat, check out Aambal in Fort Kochi.

7. Introduce her to something new in technology.

Try to be patient and take an hour of your time to teach her how to use a mobile app which may be useful to her. Tell her about its benefits and describe the step by step working of the application to her. Explain its process so that your mom can use this app in future to make her tasks easy. Then make some coffee for everyone and all of you can sit down together for a brief chit-chat.

8. Thank her for being who she is and moulding your family into what it is today.

Once it is time for bed, walk your mom to her room and put her to bed and kiss her goodnight. Tell her how lucky you are to have her. You are always on the run with deadlines and shcedules on a weekday. Remember to express your love, because it is not everyday that you will get a sunday to celebrate mother's day.
