OLAM to hit the stage for the first time at URU art harbour on October 22

OLAM, one of the first bands from Kerala to emerge out of an Artist Residency programme, is all set with their first gig at URU art harbour on October 22 at 6.30 pm. The band that was formed a year ago is all set with their own music tracks that were made during their jamming sessions at URU art harbour. The band has set an audio and visual show for the audience and the team has been working hard for it says Arun S Kumar, the drummer of the band. The band has Manu Ajayan on the Bass guitar, Syam N Pai in the lead guitar and Ajoy Jose on the keyboard.

When Riyas Komu provided the four talents a space to practice and jam, little did they know they would become a part of the Artist Residency programme. Arun says that it was 15 days back before the inaugural function of the URU art exhibition, they started jamming at  URU and that they were asked to perform for the inaugural function of the exhibition.

Being an instrumental band, OLAM has music that has elements of Psychedelic rock music and Progressive rock music. “We are really excited for our first gig and we are happy that our families and friends along with URU has supported us and we hope to give a great show for the audience at our first gig,” says Arun.
