Who would’ve thought a simple video could create such a buzz
Dalia, of the one shot video fame, mentioned in an interview with FWD Vivah that Ruben Bijy Thomas was the man behind the whole idea of taking a one shot video, so we decided to give him a call to see what he had to say about the video. The video has almost 6 lakh views on YouTube and has been shared several times on social media. Here’s Ruben talking to Wtzup Kochi in an exclusive interview.
In a recent conversation with Dalia, she had mentioned you were behind the whole idea?
Yeah, I had the idea in mind, and I wanted to something different. I gave Dalia a call two days before the event and pitched the idea to her, which she liked. Then the whole thing just fell into place.
Was it hard to get the whole video in motion?
No, not really. The whole family was very cooperative. We did have around 4 retakes, and what you saw is the fifth and final shot we took.
How much time did you invest in the video?
The one day of the function. The ceremony was to start at 3 pm. Our team reached Dalia’s home around 9 in the morning on the same day. Around two hours were spent on planning with choreography and action sequences. Timing was initially an issue, but that was sorted by the second and third retake.
Was there anyone who hesitated to be a part of it?
Surprisingly, no. Everyone was excited about the video just as much as we were, hence the retakes also did not seem to be a problem.
After this video went viral, has your phone been ringing off the hook?
Yes, we’ve received more than 100 requests for one shot videos, and they’re not all for weddings. Some of them even called to check if this could be done for birthdays!
There you have it guys, a simple idea can do wonders!
