Latin Dancing refers to a group of partner dances that have their origins in the Latin American countries. Some of the well known latin dances include the Salsa, Cha Cha Cha & Rumba (Cuba); Bachata & Merengue (Dominican Republic) and the Samba (Brazil). Due to the lively and performance oriented nature of these dances, they have become extremely popular around the world among youngsters and seniors alike. India too has a vibrant Latin Dancing community that is predominantly based around Delhi, Bangalore, Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai. Regular international conferences and workshops like the IIDC, Goa International Latin Festival, Fiesta Latina India & Latin Festival Madras is proof of their popularity.
