Kochi is all set to celebrate FIFA U-17 and has prepared the best ambiance for the team's practice ground at Maharaja’s College Ground

It has been almost a month since the artists have been working under the scorching sun and  heavy rains, to create the ‘Chundan Vallam’ painting on the steps of the gallery at Maharaja’s College ground. The painting is to be handed over to the players participating in the FIFA Under 17 World Cup to be held from october 6 at India

Sudheesh Kuruvikkadan, one of the six artists who painted these two ‘Chundan Vallam’ says, “Painting it was very hard in the beginning because the steps were white and the sunlight reflected from it was too strong. The unpredictable weather conditions also played a vital role in the completion of the work as for some days we had to stop working due to the rain”. The team includes Sooraj Kuruvikkadan, Arun Kumar K, Ajith Kumar, Sujith Kuruvikkadan and Abin PMG.

It's a great sight to see the  two ‘Chundan Vallam even from the road outside the ground. This is a welcome gift for the players and a show of sportsmanship and dedication by the people of Kochi towards their beloved game of football, by combining the sport with  a part of the state’s culture of ‘Vallam Kali.
