The 12 Types of People in Kochi

Kochi city is home to different kinds of people. Each kind prefers to hang around with their own. We have put together a list of the 12 type of people we have come across, who are part of this awesome city that is Kochi.

1. The Artist

When at the Kochi-Muziris Biennale, all of us turn to ask that one friend, “Eda, ithu entha sambavam?” This friend is the Artist.

Artists, you may find similar kinds of people at these spots in the city.

2. The Instagrammer

We all have that one friend who takes amazing pictures, the one friend we turn to and go, “Macha, our puthiya display picture venamayirinu.”

These friends have the best Instagram pages. Here are a couple of our favourites.

3. The future-IIT'ian

Do you have that one friend who is busy every weekday after school? Every time you call his house, his mom picks up and says, “mone coaching’inu poyi.” You are not alone, we all have this guy in our group.

4. The Sports Enthusiast

The one person in the group who greets you by saying, “Bro, inalathe kali kando?” This guy makes it a point to watch every sport on the planet. UFC? Cricket? Football? Cycling? He knows all.

5. The Fashionista

The latest trends? The Fashionista knows. The latest offers? The Fashionista knows. The Fashionista knows all. This is the person you turn to on the big day, she makes you look special. Every group has a Fashionista!

6. The Foodie

For the Foodie, food is life. This is that person in your group who keeps saying, “Eda, veshakunu.” My dear Foodie, here is your family.

7. The Miser

The Miser never has any money on him. You might have seen him collect his paycheque but when you try to make plans, the Miser says “Eda, ee masam tight aanu.”

8. The Social Worker

There is that one guy who is busy every weekend. Every weekend you call, he goes, “Bro, volunteer cheyane aada.”

Every time he says this, you scratch your head and wonder what he is doing. Here is the answer.

Travel is all what their heart desires. The Traveller sets out in the morning, only God knows to where. When you run into the Traveller at the end of the day, they says, “Eda, puthiya spot kitti!”

The Music Enthusiast listens to music all the time! Be it travel in the bus, the movie theatre, the park, the coffee shop, the Music Enthusiast simply cannot be separated from his music. This person never leaves home without his headphones.

11. The Extravagant

There is always that one person in the group who is loaded every day of month. Nobody knows where he gets all the money from. This is the person in our circle we call, ‘World Bank’.

12. The Movie Buff

The Movie Buff is that guy who is never in class on Fridays. On Fridays, you need to head to the nearest theatre to find him. It isn’t just English and Malayalam, the Movie Buff watches Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu movies. This is the guy that goes for those 5AM shows!
