Big budget films that star Prithviraj, Indrajith, Fahadh Faasil and more, to prolonged releases all set to hit the theatres finally

Every year, around the time of Eid is when we see some major Malayalam movie releases in the Box Office. With a relatively slow period of releases pertaining it, the major date becomes a much awaited and anticipated time for moviegoers and movie enthusiasts as well.

W Kochi compiled a list of upcoming releases for Eid 2017.

Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum

Last year Maheshinte Prathikaaram was a hit both with the critics and with the public. The same team is getting back together again for another movie set to be released on Eid, Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum. With the hit combo of Dileesh Pothan and Fahadh Faasil working with Shyam Pushkaran (who turned creative director for the movie) and music by Bijibal, the movie holds a place of prominence in the upcoming Eid releases. The movie produced by Sandip Senan and Anish M. Thomas, for the banner Urvashi Theatres, stars Suraj Venjaramoodu, Soubin Shahir along with Fahad in main roles, along with Nimisha Nair and Alencier Ley Lopez in other key roles. Rajeev Ravi does the cinematography for the movie with script by Sajeev Pazhoor.

Tiyaan

The movie stars Prithviraj and Indrajith together. If that isn’t worth the hype then there’s also the fact that Indrajith’s daughter, Nakshatra Indrajith is also making her on-screen debut through the film. The trailer for the film is intense and has garnered the interest of many. The script of the big budget film directed by Jiyen Krishnakumar is by Murali Gopy, who also appears in a leading role in the movie. With cinematography by Satheesh Kurup, and music by Gopi Sundar, we are bound to expect a lot out of the movie that tells the movie on a bigger canvas. It also stars Padmapriya, Ananya, Paris Laxmi in main roles along with Suraj Venjaramoodu, and Shine Tom Chacko. The film is produced by Red Rose Creations.

Oru Cinemakaran

The film marks as the 25th film by the banner LJ films Pvt. Directed by Leo Thaddeus, who has directed movies like ‘Payyans' and 'Pachamarathanalil', the film stars Vineeth Sreenivasan and State Award winner Rajisha Vijayan in leading roles. The music for the film was done by Bijibal. Produced by Thomas Panicker, the cinematography for the film was done by Sudheer Surendran. It also stars Vijay Babu, Anusree, and Renji Panicker in main roles. The audio launch for the film also saw Mohanlal in his new look promoting the film.

Avarude Raavukal

The much prolonged release of the movie Avarude Raavukal, starring Asif Ali, Unni Mukundan, Honey Rose, Vinay Forrt and Nedumudi Venu in leading roles is all set to happen on Eid as well. The film, directed by Shanil Muhammad of Monkey Pen fame, has music by Sankar Sharma and is produced by Ajay Krishnan. The cinematography is done by Vishnu Narayan. The movie marks as the first independent venture of Shanil Muhammed, but the release of the movie was much delayed due to many reasons since last year.

Viswasapurvam Manzoor

The film stars Roshan, who played Gautam in Aanandam, along with Prayaga Martin in lead roles. The film directed by P. T. Kunju Muhammed, also has the script and story by him as well. Set in North Malabar, the movie seems to have communist elements as seen from the poster. Produced by K.V. Mohanan under Virgin Plus Movies, it was supposed to star Gautami and Shweta Menon instead of Asha Sarath as Roshan's mother and Zarina Wahab as Prayaga’s mother in the film.

Role Models

Shot in various locations of Goa and Dubai, this Fahadh Faasil starrer is also special because of the fact that Namitha Pramod is making a comeback to the Malayalam movie industry after a long 2 years. The Rom-com is directed and written by Rafi, which makes it his next film after 2 countries. The film is expected to be released on Eid. It also stars Vinayakan, Vinay Forrt, Srinda Arhaan among many others. The cinematography for the film was done by Shamdat Sainudheen, with music by Gopi Sundar. The movie is produced by Vaishak Rajan.
