Located around 28Km from the crowd favorite Kovalam beach, Puthenthope beach is located in the quaint coastal village of Puthenthope. It is home to a vast stretch of coconut and cashew trees. Shankumugham Beach

Shankumugham beach is perhaps the second most famous beach in Trivandrum after Kovalam. Vast stretches of white sand set far away from any hustle and bustle of the city are the defining points for Shankumugham beach. The Arattumandapam, the sculpture of Sagarakanyaka by Kanayyi Kunhiraman and the open theatre are some of the best features of the beach.

Varkala Beach

Varkala Beach is also known as Papanasam Beach and it is believed that a dip in this beach can wash away all sin. It is also the only place in southern Kerala where cliffs are found adjacent to Arabian Sea. The beach has a spectacular sunset view and there are many small restaurents and snack shops around the beach that attracts a lot of visitors for leisure and religious reasons.

Veli Beach

Veli is the place where the Veli Lake meets the Arabian Sea and has been converted in to a Tourist Village. While the area surrounding the lake offers a peaceful pace, offering services like paddleboats and the chance for  kids to climb over the many huge sculptures in the vicinity, the beach has a waterfront park and there is a narrow sandbar that seperates the ocean from the lake where visitors can take long walks.
