Kozhikode Donor Drive by the DATRI Blood Stem Cell Donors

This drive is organized by the DATRI Blood Stem Cell Donors Registry (http://www.datriworld.org/) to help Sujith and patients like him who urgently need a bone marrow transplant. If you join the registry, you are agreeing to donate if you are a match for anyone who may have a need.
Here are the relevant facts about stem cell registry in India:
1. To register at the drive, you must be between 18 to 50 years.
2. To be placed on the registry, you will just need to give a cheek swab at the drive. The swab will then be sent off for testing to determine your genetic typing.
3. You must agree to donate not just for Sujith but for anyone for whom you may be a match if the need arises.
4. The stem cell donation itself is a simple outpatient procedure with minimal side effects. The donor can generally resume work the next day.
