A household name in the Malayalam film music industry, Jyotsna, the very popular singer, has been in the music business since September 2002 and has been lending her voice to film and non-film projects ever since.
Having been introduced to the industry by music director Mohan Sithara, Jyotsna has had the privilege of working with leading musicians such as Isaignani Ilayaraja, Ravindran Master, Johnson Master and also new age musicians such as Gopi Sunder, Rahul Raj, Yuvan Shankar, D Imman etc. Apart from Malayalam, Jyotsna has also lent her voice to movies in Tamil, Telugu and Kannada.
"Krishna the Eternal" is Jyotsna's contribution to the independent music arena in which she has composed four tracks and also written one. "Ini Varumo" is also another of her independent singles which has again been composed by her. Apart from studio recordings, Jyotsna has been performing live for the past 15 years for audiences all over the world and finds stage performances to be the biggest form of communication. Her performance of the cover version of "Humein Tumse" for Kappa TVs Music Mojo has harboured plenty of appreciation as a result of which she has been performing for a pan Indian audience for the past few years.
Jyotsna has been the recipient of several recognitions such as Lux Asianet Film Award 2003, Film Critics Award for the year 2008, 2014 and 2018, Mahatma Gandhi Educational Foundation Award 2005, etc.
At the Muse Room, Jyotsna will be accompanied by the celebrated keyboardist Ralfin Stephen and Abhijith Shrinivas on guitars both of whom has a very versatile repertoire of work in the Indian music scene. The audience can expect a mix of different genres of music. Versions of her own film and independent, original tracks and also covers of national and international artists across languages of Malayalam, Tamil, Hindi, English, Arabic and Spanish. All in all, it would be perfect for an audience who enjoy all kinds of music irrespective of style, language and genre.
