1) Will Modi speak in Malayalam? Will he say Namaskaram?

Ans: No, he said ‘Priyapetta Sahodari Sahodaranmaare’.

2) Will the event get me late for work tomorrow?

Ans: No, there were clear instructions on which roads to take.

3) Which all roads will be blocked?

Ans: The roads that were blocked were mentioned on page.

4) How many people can fit in a metro cabin?

Ans: There are around 42-50 seats.

5) How long is the journey from Palarivattom to Aluva?

Ans: 20 minutes flat from Palarivattom to Aluva.

6) Will the PM ride the whole route?

Ans: He only travelled from Palarivattom to Pattadipalam and back.

7) How many coaches will run initially?

Ans: 3 trains.

8) From where can we get the tickets?

Ans: There are ticket counters at the every station from where you can either buy tickets or get yourself the Kochi1 Smart Card.

9) What are the timings?

Ans: 6 AM to 10 PM.

10) Will the metro run 24/7?

Ans: No, only from 6 AM to 10 PM.

11) How do we use the Kochi-1 cards?

Ans: The Kochi1 card can be used just like a debit card outside of the metro and within, it functions the same way as the Delhi Metro card and deducts cash from the card as you swipe through the automated fare collection system (which also function as the automated ticket checking gate).

12) What is the logic behind using the same card for everything else? Is is a debit card?

Ans: It’s a Debit Card, and can be used for any kind of retail purchasing.

13) Would there be monthly passes or any other types of special passes issued?

Ans: No. But, the Kochi One card has discounts on tickets.

14) Will celebrities be using the Metro?

Ans: We’re sure they will, at least for the novelty of it. 

15) Do the stations have parking facilities?

Ans: Not all of them.

16) Will there be a time frame for the metro to run?

Ans: Yes, 6AM to 10PM.

17) Will there be any help to familiarise commuters with using the card for travel?

Ans: The Kudumbasree staff at the metro stations assist passengers while using cards and checking tickets through the automated gate. 

18) Will there be reserved seats in the Metro as well?

Ans: There’s priority seating, but no reserved seats for women as such.

19) Will the metros cause problems to private buses and autos?

Ans: Not really, but we hope it will do something to control the traffic and private autos and buses will still be used as feeder services to and from the metro stations.

20) Are Metro tickets affordable to everyone?

Ans: Presently, the highest cost the tickets can reach is Rs 60. It is very similar to traveling in a Volvo Bus.

21) Will there be concessions in tickets?

Ans: Using the Kochi1 Smart Card helps passengers get concessions on tickets.

22) Is there a special coach for ladies?

Ans: Nope, there isn’t.

23) Will the Metro run Driverless in the future?

Ans: Yes, the coaches can be easily converted into driverless systems, but that will happen only a few years down the line.

24) What do I do if my money falls onto the metro tracks?

Ans: Don’t even try to get it back, because the tracks are highly electrified.

25) Will the Metro have a day pass?

Ans: Currently, no.

26) Are there washrooms inside the coaches?

Ans: No, not in the trains, but they do have washrooms in every station.

27) How would you get out of the train if there’s an emergency?

Ans: There’s an emegency intercom system for passengers.

28) At what speed does the Metro run?

Ans: The highest speed is 90 kms an hour.

29) Do we have an official guide for the Metro that we could buy from somewhere?

Ans: No. There will be pamphlets at metro stations.

30) Will the metro start functioning properly from 17th?

Ans: The metro will be fully functional and open to the public from 19th June.
